Ray Evans, CFP® - Managing Partner

Ray Evans is Managing Partner and Founder of Pegasus Capital Management, a firm dedicated to a customized approach to wealth management.

Ray started his career advising individuals and small businesses at one of the large national investment firms. Dissatisfied with the one-size-fits-all approach to financial planning, Ray set out to create a unique and personal approach to wealth management. Founded in 1990, Pegasus Capital Management brings together customized teams of specialists to provide each client the appropriate and most comprehensive wealth management advice.
Ray has received numerous recognitions and appointments including:
-      University of Kansas Alumni Association National Board of Directors
-      KU Endowment Association’s Board of Trustees, Finance Committee Board
Additionally, Ray adds the title of author to his many roles. He has written articles for The Kansas City Business Journal, Wealth Resources, and contributed to the book You Can’t Afford the School of Hard Knocks.
 
Whether financial planning or football – when Ray is passionate about something, he gives 150%. He is an active member of the KU Alumni Association, coaches 5th Grade basketball and football and has a dedicated Elvis room in his house (we were serious about the 150%). Ray also enjoys spending time with his wife and their three children.
 
Ray holds a bachelor’s degree in business and a MBA from the University of Kansas.
 
Andrew Wank - Wealth Manager

Andrew Wank joined Pegasus in March 2011 as a wealth manager.  He will be working directly with clients as part of the Pegasus team of specialists. 

Prior to joining the firm, Andrew worked for AXA Advisors in Overland Park, KS where he was responsible for designing comprehensive wealth management plans .  While at AXA, he was named the new associate of the year in 2010, and was honored with the AXA Divisional Leaders and National Production Club Member Awards for two years.

Andrew is a graduate of Rockhurst High School and received his Bachelor of Science in Marketing from the University of Kansas where he was a member of the Phi Delta Theta fraternity.  Andrew is a member of the Junior Board of Boys Hope Girls Hope of Kansas City, Inc. and a member of the Kansas City Businessmen's club.  He is also involved with the American Royal Board of Governors. 

 

 Shawna Pilsl - Practice Manager

Shawna joined Pegasus Capital Management in October 1999, bringing with her more than 24 years of industry and administrative experience.  Shawna is responsible for day-to-day operations, handling all client service issues, processing of new business, client meeting preparation, execution of trades, scheduling, client communication and ensuring compliance with industry standards.

Prior to joining Pegasus, Shawna worked at Kidder, Peabody and Piper Jaffray.  She currently holds a Series 7 registration - General Securities Representative.

Shawna resides in Olathe, KS, with her husband, Jim and son, Alex.

 

 

 

 

Kate Blatherwick Pickert - Relationship Manager

Kate Joined Pegasus Capital Management in July 2007 as the firm's relationship manager.  She is responsible for ongoing client communications and website coordination as well as planning and implementing client events and activities.

Prior to joining Pegasus, Kate worked in broadcast news for more than 8 years. Most recently, as the 5 p.m. news producer at Kansas City's KMBC 9 (ABC) news, Kate won the 2006 Mid-America Regional Emmy for best newscast.  Before working in broadcasting, Kate was a branch manager for Enterprise Rent-A-Car.

Kate graduated from the University of Kansas with a B.A. in English and a M.S. in Journalism.  She is an active alumnae member of Pi Beta Phi Sorority, having served as chairman of its KU alumnae advisory board.  She is currently a regional collegiate risk management and policy specialist for the sorority. Kate is also a member of the AZ chapter of PEO.
